Chamber Music: Christmas Concert

fullsizeoutput_904.jpeg

Come and join us for a festive Christmas concert in the heart of Primrose Hill!

Our flautist, violinist, cellist, guitarist and pianist will be performing an eclectic programme ranging from classical to Irish folk music with some Chinese and Brazilian colour along the way.

We’ll also be performing some Christmas carols, so bring all your family to join in the fun!

To get things started we open with Shostakovich’s rhythmic Second Waltz, and then crank up the energy levels with Summer from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi.

Next, let yourself be enchanted as firstly the cello becomes the graceful Swan from Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals, and then mimics the human voice in Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise.

Rachmaninoff is followed by the great violin virtuoso, Fritz Kreisler in both his Prelude and Allegro and his Tambourin Chinois.

After the interval, the guitar will join us in the ever popular Pavane by Fauré.

The flute and guitar next take you to Brazil in a rendition of Machado’s Bossa Nova, and the dance theme continues as the violin, cello and cajon join us for some foot-stomping Irish reels!

Finally, we ease you into the festive joy of Christmas with Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, Eine Kleine Nachtmusic and Ding Dong, Merrily on High!

This is an early concert ideal for family starting at 6pm in the Church of St Mary the Virgin NW3 EDJ.

Doors open at 5.30pm.
